Have you noticed that as your mid years loomed, life seemed to speed up?

And it's funny isn't it that we can get so caught up in day to day living, the routines and the obligations, that it's not until something breaks into our awareness to shake us up that we start to question how we're living and whether we're on the right track.

It could be a major birthday, the death of someone close or just looking at an old photo of yourself and  being shocked at how young you used to look. For me it was my 50th birthday and a year or two of unsettling anxiety that somehow I wasn't quite doing what I wanted or needed to be doing with my life.

I've always known I'm mortal, don't get me wrong, but lying sleepless night after night, it really hit home to me that death comes for us all eventually (even me).   

I don't say this to be morbid but I began to realise, deep in my gut realise, that my life is finite and I want to make the most of it. 

I want to make up for all the time I squandered when I was younger, all those moments I got lost in self doubt, squashed down my dreams and told myself they would never happen. I want to live gloriously and enjoy every moment of it. I want to squeeze as much fun, joy and giving out of every moment, week and year.

I  want to lead a life that's so rich and intentional that at the end I have no regrets.
